We Don’t Speak Geek.
We believe you should be treated with respect by your service company – even if you don’t know the difference between IDE and SATA. It’s really as simple as that. Everyone has had those experiences; you go in to a store to ask simple question and you are either treated like an idiot, or you are given so much information that you are more confused after you leave then before you came in. We will give you all the information you need, but we’ll also make sure you understand it. Don’t be fooled into thinking that it is an issue of intelligence either. So many of our customers feed us the line, “I’m computer stupid.” That’s not true. If you’re reading this website, you are doing well enough – and for everything else, give one of us a call.
We provide good service at a fair price.
Okay, this one is a big deal. Raise your hand if you’ve ever gone to a computer shop and been charged more than 50% of the value of the machine. What about getting charged a flat rate that’s not a flat rate. You know, you get Windows installed for $129.99 – it includes everything – except for saving your data. That’s an additional $99.
This is a tactic that frankly needs to go away. That’s why we charge $150 for our Windows install, and that includes backing up your data. We don’t believe in hidden fees.
We solve problems – and then we try to keep them from happening again.
We aren’t so delusional as to think that you actually like calling us with your problems. Who does? Just because you like your mechanic, it doesn’t mean you want to see him every week. While we can’t keep your system out of the shop entirely, you have our word that we will do everything in our power to keep your system as problem free as possible. Some shops operate on the theory that fixing something too well costs them business opportunities. We believe that a happy customer spreads the word, so that is what we set out to create.
Questions and Answers.
This is what you should ask our competition, but we’ll answer them too.
1. Are there any hidden costs?
No. The price is what we quote you to fix the problem identified at time of drop off. If the problem changes, we’ll call you.
2. What happens if you find something else than what I brought it in for?
If it’s minor, we’ll continue with the work and won’t charge. If it’s a major change from what you brought it in for, we’ll give you a call to authorize further work and let you know what your options are.
3. Are your parts new or used?
All of our parts are new from the factory. The only exception to this is older memory. Sometimes it can be difficult or expensive to find, and so we will give customers an option on new or our used test memory.
4. Are your technicians certified by an industry recognized group such as Microsoft or Comptia?
We are one of 8 Comptia Authorized Service Centers in the state. From Comptia’s website,
“As a global, vendor-neutral credential, the CompTIA Authorized Service Center name proves to clients that their technicians are knowledgeable, capable professionals.”
We are also a Microsoft Partner.
5. How long will the job take – and what happens if you miss your deadline?
It depends on your problem and our workload, but the typical turn-around time is a matter of days. If we miss our deadline, we may discount the labor rate.
6. What kind of guarantee can you offer on your work?
We offer 14 days on Virus & Spyware Removal. Everything else is a minimum of 30 days. Ask our technicians for specifics.
In short, the real Avec difference is how we see our customers. We encourage you to shop around and take a good look at the competition. Ask your current service provider these questions and see what the answers are.
We’d love to help you with your computer – so give us a call today.
